Abstract :  This paper highlights various aspects of technical criteria involved in planning & locating of an Antenna supporting RCC Structure along with details of load Analysis adopted to satisfy the stringent Structural Design criteria as specified by the users apart from site related constructional constraints. Locating of such large size Antenna facility has to satisfy the dual criteria namely i)clearance of RF zone for adjacent buildings ii) avoiding of blockages of signals in Specified range of Azimuth & Elevation. RCC supporting structure has been planned as an octagonal in plan with eight numbers of sturdy RCC Cols of size 1000x1200mm with super structure of "Ribbed Truncated Conical Roofing" primarily rested on peripheral Ring Beam of size 1200x1400 mm. The entire 3D structure has been modelled by using software STAAD-PRO & analysis results got re-verified by SAP 2000. In view of Deep Space Network applications, the building is required to satisfy multiple design criteria like the tip rotation of RCC tower shall not exceed 3.6 arc seconds (for tracking the satellites with UTMOST pointing accuracy) & also Natural frequency of RCC Structure shall not be less than 8 Hertz to avoid the resonance with Antenna Dish.
