Abstract : This paper presents the findings of a project undertaken by the author to integrate the ‘solar-passive building technology’ in the architectural design of an office building to reduce the energy consumption to maintain indoor-thermal comfort. The building-simulation tools are used to evaluate the impact of solar-passive building design features on energyperformance and sustainability, so as to enable the building designers to adopt low-carbon strategies while creating a comfortable and sustainable indoor environment.
