Abstract :  From environmental and sustainability point of view alternative fine aggregate is required for concrete making to avoid scarcity and increasing cost of natural sand. Dredging of sand from river bed leads to the soil erosion, changing pattern of river course caused by a very little or excessive rainfall, stability of river banks and construction of cross barriers etc. POND ASH(PA) and GRANULATED BLAST FURNACE SLAG( GBFS) are used in this work replacing half (50% of required)of the conventional fine aggregate. Effect of replacement was observed on compressive strength, and tensile strength. It is found that PPC cement and POND ASH can be recommended for all general structural purposes.
