Abstract : Traditional Indian construction industry has already realized the need for efficient and innovative Industrial production methods to address the pressing issues of shortage of skilled manpower and timely completion of projects. Also the demand and supply gap especially in housing sector is forcing them to constantly look for more mechanized construction methods which require less supervision in comparison to conventional construction practices. One such technology proven elsewhere is precast technology. Precast technology has the potential to take over the current conventional construction industry to the next level by adopting a more organized and industrialized production method. Precast manufacturing processes make it more efficient and reliable in meeting the demand for faster construction without compromising on safety, quality and cost. This paper discusses in detail the equipments used for production and erection of fast growing precast building construction industry in India.
