Abstract : Many unreinforced brick masonry buildings have damaged / collapsed due to earthquakes in the past. Lot of work has been carried out to strengthen such buildings to perform better during earthquakes. The use of lintel band to improve seismic behavior of masonry constructions (owing to improved integrity between building components) has been established through experimental studies.
