Abstract : Metakaolin, a natural pozzolana, is produced by heat?treating kaolin, a natural, finely divided, aluminosiliceous mineral. Heating to 700 ? 800°C alters its structure, producing a highly reactive supplementary cementitious material (SCM) that is widely available for use in concrete construction.
