Abstract :  The restoration of dry stone masonry temples poses a challenging task. The present paper discusses in detail the analysis, design and implementation of various methods of restoration for stabilising the ruins of the 1000-year old Ta Prohm temple (in Cambodia) overgrown by large trees with serpentine roots interpenetrating the structural components. Based on detailed studies, nine emergency locations were identified and reversible interventions were successfully carried out. The necessary tests and analytical calculations were carried out. In later stages of the project, limited reconstruction was also permitted and successfully carried out.
